Tips For Youthful Skin!

Updated: Apr 27, 2020

1) Don't Be Rough With Your Skin

We’re constantly touching our faces on a daily basis. We are touching it, pulling it, patting, and tugging it can be a determining factor for affecting it and its health.

For those who remove makeup at the end of the day. The eye area, is where the skin is thinnest and most delicate. When we overly tug with the skin there, it’s easy to create premature fine lines by repeatedly and harshly touching it all the time.

Lets talk about waterproof makeup. A tip you can use to gently and effectively remove your eye makeup. Take a cotton pad soaked in micellar water or cleansing oil and hold over the eyes for 5-10 seconds. Afterwards, gently use circular upward and outward motions to remove! You can also use gentle, circular or patting motions to apply products and use firm, but not dragging movements.

2) Hydrate and Moisturize

When your skin is not hydrated or moisturized, you’re going to notice a few things: maybe tightness, dry flakes, excess oil, irritation, dullness, and cracked skin.

Hydration: When you're thirsty, what do you do? Drink water. So if you're experiencing flakiness, dullness, etc with your skin. Focus on hydrating your skin with ingredients that will help. Look for hyaluronic acid, glycerin, urea, aloe, AHAs.

Moisturizing on the other hand, is creating a protective barrier that helps to trap and seal in all the moisture in your skin. Look for ingredients such as ceramides, fatty acids, antioxidants, shea butter, cocoa butter etc. Keep in mind that some oils can be heavy and pore-clogging (coconut oil) for oily skin types, so definitely look into lightweight or gel moisturizers!

3) Incorporate Active Ingredients

Such as retinol, niacinamide and peptides help to stimulate collagen production and encourage the skin to work their magic in restoring youthful skin. Try different ingredients out to see which one works for you! If you do start using active ingredients, remember to start at a low percentage and gradually work your way up to higher concentration.
